Nika in Horace Silver’s masterpiece “Nika’s Dream” is a female jazz patron. Regardless of her status, she resolutely came to New York, the holy land of jazz, alone, wholeheartedly supporting jazz musicians and offering them many famous songs.I think her great love spirit and way of life are worth learning from.
When I first heard “Nika’s Dream”, I had goose bumps all over my body, and I couldn’t wait to sing it right away.As I continued to participate in more Gigs, I met Eriko Shimizu (Apf) and Shinichi Kato (Cb) at the jazz club “NARU” in Yoyogi, Tokyo, and sang very comfortably to their melody.I started to think about making my first album when I could sing this song naturally one day.
The outstanding performance of the trio, coupled with the arrangement of drummers Toyoaki Sekine and Eriko Shimizu, I think we can make the audience feel a kind of “dancing jazz”.Finally, I would like to thank UNAMAS Records for their engineering efforts in making this album.
