ProCAST is well-suited for investment casting. For example, ProCAST can automatically generate a mesh that reflects the shell mold, and it allows for uneven thicknesses and multi-layering.
Thermal radiation and shadowing effects, which are important for high-temperature alloys, are taken into account. ProCAST offers the ability to simulate mold filling, solidification, and microstructure formation. The placement of risers and the use of insulating or exothermic feeds, along with their impact on shrinkage, can be studied on the computer and visualized on-screen to achieve optimal casting quality.
Low-pressure gravity die casting.
To realistically replicate factory conditions, mold operating cycles can be simulated until temperature conditions reach steady state. Calculated temperature fields allow for predicting mold filling and casting solidification.
Process parameters can be adjusted to achieve optimal process quality in the shortest possible time.
ProCAST high-pressure die casting
solves specific high-pressure die casting challenges, such as liquid forging and semi-solid casting. Optimal plunger velocity profiles, gate design, and flowability can be easily determined during simulation, even for thin-walled parts. Thermomechanical die cycles can be calculated not only to extend the die lifespan but also to improve productivity, thereby reducing risks and costs.
