– Improved compiler performance
The compiler has been further optimized for both speed and size giving a 7.9 % improvement on the EEMBC ULP Bench and 11.3 % on EEMBC CoreMark benchmarks.
– Enhanced multiplications
The compiler now uses the hardware multiplier more efficiently. There is a speedup of integer and floating-point multiplication routines in the runtime library. This includes new floating-point routines tailored for the 32-bit hardware multiplier and overall faster 64bit integer multiplication.
– Analysis report generation in C-STAT
It is now possible to generate analysis reports from C-STAT in HTML format.
– Intrinsic functions for saturated addition and subtraction
New intrinsic functions for performing saturated addition and subtraction.
– ELF/DWARF output
The linker can now generate full ELF/DWARF that is compatible with TI Code Composer Studio. To generate this format, the Format variant “TI CCS-compatible” must be selected in the Output options to the linker.
– Support for new devices
Support has been added for the following new MSP430 devices: MSP430FR2532, MSP430FR2533, MSP430FR2632, MSP430FR2633
