In my sophomore album, Rhinestones, I explore the journey of an unyielding artist – the painful rejections, the hopeful dreams, and the quiet resilience of staying the course. This record feels like a love letter to my Appalachian roots while also honoring my creative identity outside of my bluegrass upbringins. In my previous work, I was searching for myself, finding my way, wondering what was out there, but this is a record of confidence in my journey, pain in the pursuit of my dreams, and a celebration of the different loves I’ve found and lost along the way. Rhinestones features stories of family dysfunction, friendship, mental health, career disappointments, massive heartbreak, romantic achievements, and the complexities of growing up and moving away from your small hometown. I’m excited to share this music that feels simultaneously like a wholesome return voyage and an adventurous path forward.
