Crematory is a German metal band formed in 1991. The band became recognizable in the mid-1990s, performing on tour as an opening act for such bands as My Dying Bride, Tiamat and Atrocity. The band started with a traditional death metal style, then adopted industrial and gothic metal styles in the recordings of later albums.
The band received good promotion on MTV Germany, and also participated in many festivals, including “Wacken Open Air” in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2001. In 1996, Crematory signed an agreement with Nuclear Blast. The band returned to Massacre Records, their first label, in 2006 after 10 years of collaboration with Nuclear Blast.
